This past weekend, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Breakdancing Shakespeare, and I’m filled with gratitude.

I’m incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of this program for so many years and to witness its growth. One of the highlights of the weekend was reconnecting with alumni from across the years and seeing the lasting impact this program has had on so many artists. It was also amazing to see all three performances come close to selling out, with audiences bringing incredible energy and support.

A heartfelt thank you to my team at Hartford Stage for your dedication, creativity, and commitment to bringing this production to life. I’m equally grateful to our phenomenal cast and crew, whose passion, hard work, and trust made every performance something special.

Thank you to everyone—past and present—who has been part of this journey. It’s an honor to continue contributing to a program that celebrates storytelling through Shakespeare, hip-hop, and breaking. Here’s to 20 incredible years and many more to come.
